I've always had a passion for reading and am thrilled to have the opportunity to join the reading buddy program. I love all sorts of books, including fantasy novels.

Junior at Los Altos High Available Sunday afternoons Maulik loves reading and hopes to share that love with younger kids. He's helped other with reading at his own high school, his local elementary school, and even overseas as a volunteer teacher in Nepal. He can't wait to read with you!

Sophomore at Woodside Priory School Weekdays 3:15-4:30pm, Saturday and Sunday afternoons Layla has loved everything from fantasy stories to nonfiction for as long as she can remember. Being dyslexic, she knows firsthand the value of individualized reading support and would love to help kids learn to love reading at their own pace with books that inspire them. When she's not reading or listening to a great audiobook she spends her time playing basketball and getting outside.

Senior at Woodside Priory School Available Mon, Wed, Thur, Sat from 3:30-5pm Tina used to work with reading partners in her elementary school and middle school. She loves spending time with kids and is excited to be part of this program. She loves reading manga; some of her favorite genres are sci-fi, fairy tale, mystery, and thriller. Tina is also a great listener and is very patient. She is very eager to bring her passion into this program.

Junior at Woodside Priory School Available Mon-Thur afternoon (usually 4pm- 6pm) Cici is patient with kids and is willing to help and teach kids more. She also has a variety of hobbies and a lot of experiences of traveling to other countries. She would love to share them out and is very excited to work with kids!!

Senior at Woodside Priory School Available Saturday and Sunday from 8am-noon (PST) Nate is very open to all sorts of genres of books and loves meeting other students regardless of grade. He is not the fastest nor comprehending (on the first try) reader ever, but is persistent. Gets along with others easily and always tries to have fun!

Sophomore at Woodside Priory Available Mon-Wed and Thurs-Sun afternoons and evenings Adelyn is an avid reader and loves to connect with her friends and classmates about the meaning behind passages, as well as the different characters, elements and storylines portrayed in the novels. She is looking forward to sharing that connection with other kids and is excited to introduce many of her favorite childhood books with them!

Senior at Galileo High School Available Thursday to Friday 7:30-9:30pm and Saturday to Sunday 10am-2pm Amy loves to read and write stories of her own and is hoping to spread her love of reading to others too. She is currently working at the San Francisco Recreation and Park after-school program and desire to demonstrate her skills and passion of working with children.

Junior at Galileo Academy Available Monday-Tuesday from 4-6PM; Wednesday-Thursday 3-6PM; Weekends at any time Nick has a friend who didn't learn to read until 3rd grade. Because of this, he would like to make it his goal to help as many kids as possible to be able to read and to do it at a higher level. He has tutored his classmates for years, so he's learned to be very patient.

To be able to spread her love for reading and the wonders of stories told through paper and ink (or even digitally) is something she is passionate about. She is patient, friendly, responsible, and loves to inspire people. She can't wait to spread her passion and love for reading with your kids!

Senior at Los Altos High Available Sunday mornings, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons Ella has been volunteering with little kids for a couple of years now and has a little brother herself. She enjoys the time she gets to spends with little kids and is eager to share the exciting world of books with others!

She loves working with younger children but does great with any age. When working with Irene, there is no rigid schedule as she will adapt to your child’s preferences.

She once had the opportunity in her school to be able to have Reading Buddies, and ever since, she started to love the experience! She loves to play tennis and is learning netball.

Sophomore Available Weekdays after 3:45 and all day on weekends Eleana loves to read to kids and reads for her little sister all the time! She's patient, kind, and speaks very clearly. She's done something similar before for community service, and she loved it!

8th grader at Bullis Charter School Dia has always kept reading in a special place in her heart and is very thrilled to be a part of this program. Dia has worked with her younger brother and taught him to read and is very excited to share her passion with other kids!

She is excited to take part in this program and learn more about reading to others. She has worked with kids before (babysitting, etc) and is excited to share all the things she has learned in this program.

She feels that this program combines her interests in volunteering, mentoring, and reading very well. Rachel would love to pay it forward and help the next generation develop a love for reading! She enjoys talking to children, and is excited to be a patient, encouraging mentor to young readers during her summer!
